Join Our Team

​Our apprenticeship programs provide new members with the opportunity to earn while they learn. They gain the knowledge and education required along with the hands-on training and skill-set required to complete 3 levels of schooling and enter the workforce as a professional insulator mechanic.  
Requirements to join the Local:
     
  • At least 18 years old
  • High school diploma
  • Interest in skilled craftsmanship
  • Courses in woodworking, metalworking, and mechanical drawing an asset
  • Algebra and geometry an asset
  • Science and physics an asset
  • Desire to learn and progress
  • Skilled with numbers/math
  • Enjoy working with their hands
  • Reasonable health conditions – health test results required
  • Must be comfortable with working at heights - up to 100+ feet
  • Insulation experience an asset
Hammerhead/ helmets to hardhats program:
Our hammerhead program is built to provide assistance to those that need it, providing our services with little to no cost to the apprentice. For more information on this program and to find out if you qualify, call the Local Union Office.
